Kitesurfing Group Lesson
Overview
Group kitesurfing lessons are a fun and social way to start learning kitesurfing in Mui Ne, Vietnam. Lessons are taught in very small groups with a maximum of 2 students per instructor, ensuring that every student receives plenty of guidance while still enjoying a shared learning experience.
Mui Ne is one of the best places in Southeast Asia to learn kitesurfing thanks to its steady wind, warm water, and wide sandy beach. These ideal conditions allow beginners to practice safely while building strong fundamentals.
Group lessons focus on essential kite control and water safety skills. Students learn the theory and practice needed to handle the kite confidently before progressing into the water.
Group lessons cover Level 1 and Level 2 skills. After completing Level 2, students who want to continue learning waterstarts and riding must transition to private kitesurfing lessons, because Level 3 requires one-on-one coaching for safety and faster progression.
Course Levels
Level 1 – Ground & Kite Control
- Piloting the kite on land and in shallow water
- Understanding wind theory and safety zones
- Kite setup and pack-down techniques
- Launching and landing the kite with control
During this stage, you’ll master the basics of kite handling and safety awareness. You’ll learn to feel the wind, understand the power zone, and confidently control your kite before heading into the water.
Level 2 – Water Control & Body Dragging
- Body-dragging theory and practice in the water
- Controlling the kite’s power to move through the water
- Water-relaunch techniques
- Self-rescue and safety procedures
This level is all about confidence in the water. You’ll use the kite’s pull to body-drag in different directions, recover your board, and practice safe recovery skills in case of any situation.
Important Progression Note
Group lessons are designed for beginner fundamentals and stop at Level 2. To learn waterstarts and riding skills in Level 3, students must continue with private lessons, where the instructor provides dedicated one-on-one guidance.
